What we do
The outdoors is not a privilege. It is a right. We believe every person - whatever their level of disability - deserves to feel the wind on their face, the scent of the forest or the sound of a river. Through Adaptive Adventures, we bring people with disabilities together through shared outdoor experiences. Because an active life is not only for some.
Making nature accessible

In 2018, the life of one of our founders changed in a split second. A fall from a bike, an injured cervical vertebra - and paralysis from the neck down. No movement, no sensation, no fine motor control.
What came next is familiar to thousands of people with a similar story: endless worries, exhaustion, and little strength left for the most important thing in life - actually living it.
Adaptive Adventures grew out of that experience. Not as a response to sympathy, but as a challenge - to prove that life after disability can still be full, active and meaningful.

Past events
Devín for Everyone was an inclusive festival at Devín Castle, open to absolutely everyone - regardless of age, gender or disability. The cultural and sports programme brought disabled and non-disabled people together in one shared experience: cycling, talks with interesting people, workshops and good music. The festival was organised by Be:Cycle and took place for the third time this year.
Paddling Without Barriers at WakeLake Zlaté piesky. We met in the pleasant, safe surroundings of WakeLake, where participants could try kayaks, double kayaks and paddleboards with support. The event was suitable for complete beginners and was especially intended for people with disabilities, though family and friends were warmly welcome too. Thank you to everyone who came.
Paddling Without Barriers on the Rusovecko-Jarovecké river branch at the Otvorená lodenica boathouse. This beautiful spot on a branch of the Danube, on the edge of Petržalka, offers calm, safe paddling in a natural setting. Along the way, participants could spot beavers, coypu, kingfishers, herons, ducks and swans. The event was for people with disabilities, their families and friends, and anyone who simply wanted to come and paddle. Thank you to everyone who joined us.
We took part in the Open Day at VK Dunajčík water sports club. Visitors could try rafting with experienced instructors, test kayaks, tour the century-old boathouse, join creative workshops in the eco corner and play beach games. All activities were free. Thank you for the invitation and the great atmosphere.

This year, we were also part of the Pohoda festival. At the NGO stand, we presented our activities and everything we do through Adaptive Adventures. Thank you to everyone who stopped by. Venue: Trenčín Airport.
We had to cancel the event - a level 3 high-temperature warning was in force that day, and we did not want to put the health of participants or volunteers at risk. Thank you for your understanding. We look forward to seeing you at our next events.
We took part in Run Bekim Run, held on June 20 in Pezinok. The event offered 5 km and 10 km races, including a disability category. Proceeds from registrations support our activities for people with disabilities. Thank you to everyone who came.

Parapádlo is a specially adapted craft that allows people with different types of disabilities to paddle. The equipment and paddles are adapted so movement on the water is safe and comfortable.

Deadlines
Employees: ask your employer for the annual tax settlement and the “Certificate of tax paid” (Potvrdenie o zaplatení dane).
Filing your own tax return (self-employed, companies and employees with several incomes): enter the details of our civic association (name and IČO) in the section on assigning a share of tax, and file the return.
Employees: fill in the “Declaration on assigning a share of paid tax” (Vyhlásenie o poukázaní podielu zaplatenej dane) with the details of our civic association (name and IČO), and deliver it together with the certificate to the tax office for your permanent address, in person, by post or electronically.
